Artist Statement
George Davis has been teaching figurative sculpture in the Dallas area since 1970 and maintains a studio in North Dallas at 13602 Floyd Circle, Dallas, TX 75243. Phone is 972-437-3250. Sculpture is done from live models and classes are suitable for the beginner as well as the advanced sculptor. There are three 10-week sessions per year: fall, winter and spring. Classes meet Monday mornings, Monday evenings and Wednesday evenings. The fall classes will start on Monday, September 13th and Wednesday, September 15th this year (2004). Emphasis is placed on the accurate rendition of correct anatomy. Tuition is $225. And registration may be made on information received through the above phone and address.
Commission Sculpture
Portrait heads and figures in bronze or cast stone are available. One-third scale torsos have been the most frequently ordered sculptures in that they are the least expensive and usually require only three 3-hour sessions with the model to obtain an accurate rendition. All sculpture prices are based on the time involved, size and casting costs.
Abstract Sculpture
Although figurative sculpture is his specialty, there are a number of abstract pieces presently available.
