AUSTIN SCULPTOR SETS STATUE AT
COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES

     “Leather Helmets & Broken Noses”, a 3/ 4 life-size statue of 2 old time football players, by Austin sculptor, Bob Coffee, was installed August 2nd on the Campus of Colorado School of Mines.

     The statue honors the School of Mines’ All American halfback, Lloyd Madden, who, in 1939, scored 141 points in 8 games (2.8 touchdowns per game) - a record finally broken in 1999 - a 60 year period!.
