Artist StatementGeorge Davis has been teaching figurative sculpture from live models in the Dallas area since 1970 and maintains a studio in North Dallas at 13602 Floyd Circle. Sculpture is done from live models and classes are suitable for beginners as well as advanced sculptors. He emphasizes an accurate rendering of correct anatomy. Three ten week sessions are taught each year: fall, winter and spring. Classes meet on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 10:00. Commission Sculpture Portrait heads and figures in bronze or cast stone are available. One-third scale torsos have been the most frequently ordered sculptures in that they are the least expensive and usually require only three 3-hour sessions with the model to obtain an accurate rendition. All sculpture prices are based on the time involved, size and casting costs. |
