My devotion to art is inspired by life, music, perception of color and movement. Expressing my
emotions with sculptures and abstract structures creates continual challenges for me. Reaching a union of the two not only teaches me about art, but about life as well. .

As an artist, it is my privilege to sculpt what I feel and see; it is my duty to document life. It is my pleasure to explore the vast realm of color, movement, space and form. Within and

Artist's Spotlight

What type(s) of art do you like to create? Inspiration surrounds me every day in life as music, color and movement. I look forward to sharing my art and sculptures with my friends and the world. I enjoy watching someone’s facial expressions and reaction to my art.

Where did you learn to do what you do? My work originates back to my childhood. I have always been creating weather it was with Legos or my next fort. My start happened when I was 17. I got my first apartment and this was a great achievement at that time in my life. For the first time something that was all mine. But sitting around on lawn chairs and buckets was not that appealing. Not able to afford real furniture, I made my chairs, table and even a bed. Working at a steel sprocket and gear plant, I was told I could have all the scrap I could carry (wish that was still true to today). Soon I had a matching bedroom and living room sets. Word got out on what I was doing and before I knew it people were buying my furniture and even my bed out from under me. Doors were opening and then I was introduced to accomplished artist Amalia El-Masri. She took my skills and shaped me into the artist I am today. I am honored to know her and thank her for always pushing me in the good times and the bad. I thank my father who gave me strong electrical and mechanical skills teaching the skills of engineering bring my ideas to life.

Tell us about your most important projects. I think some of the most important projects are the ones I have created from destruction. For example I took a destroyed work shed that has been in my family for 3 generations and shaped the wood into a shadow box that will live forever. My family’s farm house built in the early 1900\'s was destroyed by an EF5 tornado. I created frames from the wood to hold the memory of what was.

Describe your studio. My studio is small but I have everything I need to create. I like to work indoors when I can but like my ideas, my art is big so I spend most of time creating outside. I also share a second studio with Amalia El-Masri. This studio is full of inspiration and creativity, sounded by life and metals of all sorts. We are constantly bouncing ideas off of each other. Amalia’s always pushing me to create another masterpiece and she is very inspirational.

What type of music do you listen to while you work? I Listen to a bit of everthing i always have something playing :)

Do you have any advice for other artists? Keep Creating !

Do you belong to any art organizations? In my spare time I take part in local hot rod car shows and classic motorcycles events. I build both cars and bikes. It’s a joy meeting other enthusiast sharing are ideas and projects. I like to think of it as art on wheels.
